Because of people who support Employment Resources, Inc. (ERI), stories like this one are possible.
For years, Madison, Wisconsin viewers welcomed Sarah Carlson into their homes as a trusted news anchor. But when unexpected health issues began affecting her on air, everything changed. A diagnosis of epilepsy caused by a benign brain tumor ended her career and shook her confidence.
With help from ERI and the Ticket to Work program, Sarah rebuilt her career and her life. ERI’s services helped her return to work while managing her health and maintaining her benefits.
“The Ticket to Work program gave me peace of mind,” Sarah says. “It helped me take that scary leap from disability benefits back to employment.”
Now, Sarah is back on air, doing what she loves, using her voice to report the news and advocate for others with disabilities.
"I always say to hold on to hope," Sarah shares. "I didn't know that I'd live, let alone work again. And I like to share my story literally to say, if you're wondering how, listen to this one.”
This Giving Tuesday, your gift has more impact! When we reach 15 individual donations, we can unlock a match from ERI’s Board of Directors. Help us reach our goal by donating today and give the gift of work.
