Are you passionate about helping individuals with disabilities navigate the complex world of benefits while pursuing meaningful employment? Employment Resources, Inc. (ERI), seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Ticket to Work Benefits and Employment Specialist to join our Direct Services team. This role supports individuals with disabilities in understanding how employment impacts their benefits while providing comprehensive career guidance and ongoing employment support.

This position serves clients throughout Wisconsin. ERI provides all necessary equipment including computer, printer and telephone equipment and other essential work tools. We understand the importance of flexibility and work-life balance.

As our new Ticket to Work Benefits and Employment Specialist, you will:

  • Counsel clients on how employment impacts disability-related benefits including SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, and other support programs
  • Act as a liaison with benefit agencies and resolve benefit-related issues
  • Provide comprehensive career counseling including career exploration, goal setting, and career planning
  • Support clients with all aspects of job search including resume development, cover letter writing, mock interviewing, job search strategies, and job leads
  • Offer job retention services to help clients maintain employment
  • Provide education around disability disclosure and workplace accommodations
  • Help individuals achieve their employment goals through person-centered support
  • Develop your knowledge, skill, and abilities related to work incentives, benefits planning, and employment services
  • Creatively approach and work through challenging situations

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Associate's degree in human services, social work, or related field
  • Experience in benefits counseling and employment services preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and case management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to learn very specific information and requirements related to benefits systems
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while remaining flexible
  • The ability to relate, communicate, and engage with diverse populations
  • Capability using a computer and business software
  • Ability to pass and maintain clearance related to criminal, caregiver, and sex offender background check requirements
