Benjamin R. Spec, a world renowned, international benefits specialist for people with disabilities, combines his love of travel with his passion for benefits counseling.  It’s not all champagne, ocean breezes, and jet-setting for Ben! No matter where he lands, Ben’s ready and willing to offer his expertise on how benefits decisions change a person’s life.  Ben’s all about living life to the fullest and that’s why he wants to help others live life to the fullest as well.

Though now Ben enjoys the freedom of consultant work and travels around the world. He started out as an advocate for people with disabilities, and through this avenue found himself in the benefit world.  After being a benefits specialist in the 90’s, he was identified as one of the top benefits people and decided to become a consultant.  He never intended to become a benefits detective – it just happened. 

Or maybe it wasn’t an accident…Benjamin Spec matriculates from a family full of benefit gurus.  His mother was an economic support division supervisor and his father was claims representative at Social Security.  Growing up, Ben and his sister were exposed to dinner-time conversations. Their parents shared positive and negative aspects of public benefit systems.  Ben’s sister, Quimbie Spec, now works in D.C. as an advocate for people with disabilities. She and Ben have taken after their parents in many ways.
